Connacht GAA Championship Finals

The Connacht GAA Championship Finals, Minor & Senior take place today, Sunday 10th July in Pearse Stadium. The Minor Game pits Galway against Mayo with Throw in at 12noon with the Senior decider at 2pm between Galway and Roscommon. Also on the day the Roscommon All Ireland U21 winners from 1966 will be the guests of honour, there will also be a musical rendition from Johnny Carroll as well as exhibition games from Cumann na mBunscol and Shanghai U12 team playing against a Claregalway U12 selection. St Patrick’s Brass Band will entertain the crowd and Norrie Keane from the Abbeyknockmoy club will perform Amhran na Bhfiann. The ‘Big Screen’ will also be in situ and is sure to add to the event.

Gates for the venue will be open from 10.30am and all supporters are asked to get to the venue on time as it will be a maximum capacity crowd for the finals.

There are a very limited number of Sideline tickets available for the Finals. Tickets will be on sale outside the ground from 10.30am and any patrons attending, that have not already purchased Match Tickets, are advised to get to the venue early to purchase the last remaining tickets.

A Garda traffic management plan will be in operation on the day and drivers are reminded to comply with signage and detour suggestions, parking signs and cones. When parking to have consideration for other road users, pedestrians and residents.

A City Bus service operates from Eyre Sq to Pearse Stadium and there will be addition buses on this service on Sunday. This 401 bus runs from Eyre Square Stop 9 to Dr Mannix Rd GAA HQ (Pearse Stadium) Buses leave Eyre Square at 1000 1040 1120 1200 1240 1320 and it’s a 20 minute journey.

TribesmenGAA and Club Rossie are both hosting events prior to the Finals. TribesmenGAA are hosting a breakfast get together from 10.30am in the Salthill Hotel with ‘Club Rossie’ having their ‘Meet Up Before The Match” in The Galway Bay Hotel from 10am.

All supporters travelling to Pearse Stadium are requested to arrive early for the games and co-operate with stewards and Gardai.
