[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]On the playing fields in 1930, Mayo won the Connacht final 1-7 to 1-2 against Sligo before 7000 spectators and subsequently lost to Kerry in the All-Ireland semi-final 1-9 to 1-4.

Roscommon took the Junior Connacht title defeating Mayo at Tubbercurry 2-9 to 2-5 while Mayo took the Minor title, before defeating Clare in the All-Ireland semi-final at Birr 2-3 to 0-0. Mayo lost to Dublin in the All-Ireland final by 1-3 to 0-5 with Dublin scoring a controversial goal, so Connachts wait for their first elusive All-Ireland was delayed for another year. Connacht fared badly in the Railway Cup, losing by 0-8 to 0-3 to leinster in the semi-final at Croke Park.
