Last Friday night the Connacht GAA Awards for 2017 were held at the Connacht GAA Centre in Bekan. It was a special occasion for all award recipients, with all those who received Man of the Match awards in Connacht CHampionship games at all grades receiving their piece of crystal.

Also honoured on the night were retiring members of the Connacht Council Enda Tiernan, Richard Brennan, Jim Meehan and Sean Martin, all of whom were praised profusely for their sterling work over many years by keynote speaker on the night, President of the Connacht Council Mick Rock. Tourmakeady were the overall winners of the Club Grounds of the Year award, with Clonbur, Barnacoola, Clann na Gael and Coolaney/Mullinabreena also receiving recognition for the excellent standards they maintain their club grounds to.
