Presentation by Connacht GAA Council to Tony Watene, National Inclusion Officer.
At the first meeting of 2016 of the Connacht Games for All Committee, held on 2nd February 2016, a presentation was made to Tony Watene, National Inclusion Officer, who was in attendance. This was Tony’s final official Games for All meeting in Connacht in his capacity as National GAA Inclusion Officer, as he has been appointed Operations Officer in the GAA Centre of Excellence in Abbottstown, Dublin 15.
At the Connacht Games for All Committee meeting, Tony was highly praised and thanked for the tremendous work he had carried out in Inclusion and Integration, at national and provincial level, over the years and also for his leadership in the area of Games for All. Although Tony will take up his new appointment in March 2016, and said that he hopes that this will not be the last time he will be in Connacht, as he will carry some of his current inclusion role with him, to Abbotstown. Tony was wished him continued success in his new position.
A presentation was made to Tony Watene by Michael Rock President of Connacht Council and Denis O’Boyle Chairperson of the Connacht GAA Games for All Committee.
