This Friday the finals of the Connacht GAA Ted Webb Inter-County U16 Football Competition will take place at the Connacht GAA Centre, with all five Connacht counties seeing action on the night. The Ted Webb Competition has been played in Connacht every year since 1976, in memory of former Mayo and Ballyhaunis Player, Ted Webb, who tragically lost his life in a car accident in 1975 and was a key member of the Mayo senior football team and a successful member of the 1974 Mayo U21 team. There have already been two great days of football played at the Centre over the last week, and we are now left with Roscommon taking on Galway City/West in the Cup Final at 19.45 and Mayo North East Taking on Galway North in the Shield Final at 19.00. The final games will be 30 minutes a half, a departure from the earlier rounds of the competition which were 20 minutes a half. In the Plate competition, Mayo South West meet Sligo at 18.30 and Sligo play Leitrim at 19.30.
