Performance Analysis

The centre has a fully furnished educational gym and match analysis suite to fulfil all the needs of players and coaches.

Our video analysis can now provide base line data that will provide feedback that when properly used will make an immerse contribution to player, coach & overall team understanding and development.

Teams may come to the centre and have their games videoed in real time or have the option of submitting a video of a training session or game (from an external venue) that we can than code and analyse with the guidance of their coach/manager. The player/coach will then receive a short presentation detailing what they have picked out from the training/game.

Player Testing

All teams should begin the season by establishing player fitness. If a payer does not have accurate information on his/her level of fitness then how does he/she measure improvement?

At our centre we can provide accurate and meaningful tests that will capture the state of the player for all relevant player characteristics. These tests include

  • Height
  • Weight
  • M.I,
  • % body fat
  • Speed
  • Power
  • Agility
  • Endurance

This will allow each player to build up a player profile that may be used to clearly establish the progress of the individual. These results are then compared to norms for the appropriate age or level of competition that the player is participating at.

Player Movement Screening

The Functional Movement Screen otherwise known as FMS is a ranking and grading system that assesses movement patterns that are key to normal function. This will be a valuable tool for clubs to keep players training and playing games throughout their season while also reducing medical bills.

So why do we screen?

The movement screen allows us to quickly and effectively identify weaknesses and imbalances in the fundamental movement patterns of our players. These weaknesses and imbalances have been shown to increase the risk of injury. By screening these patterns (Deep Squat, Hurdle Step, Inline Lunge, Shoulder Mobility, Active Straight Leg Raise, Trunk Stability Pushup and Rotary Stability) we can identify the weaknesses and imbalances and use corrective exercises to improve movements and help prevent injuries. We can track progress over months and years.

Training Programme Design  

At the centre we have a full time Strength & Conditioning Officer who will provide expert, informed information and guidance on request.

The Physical Fitness/Strength & Conditioning aspect of player development has become more utilised in recent times. However there is a concern that in this field, many myths still prevail and untrained personnel are prescribing and overseeing programmes with detrimental effects. With this in mind our strength and conditioning Officer has developed an online course which will allow us to educate coaches in the area.
