Connacht GAA have again reiterated their commitment to the ongoing educational development of its players and members by announcing details of the 2019/2020 GAA National Student Bursary scheme. Connacht GAA, in support of the National Student Bursary Scheme, will award bursaries of €750 to students attending Higher Education colleges, to date the GAA has invested over €2million in the past decade that the Bursary Schemes have been in existence.
The scheme, which is now in its twelfth year, will be open to members of the Association who are attending a full-time Higher Education course and who are active participants in their Higher Education club. Students who hold other GAA-related or a college scholarship/bursary will not be eligible to apply. Connacht GAA welcomes applications from those students in our province, (Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon & Sligo), regardless whether their attendance is at a college inside or outside of Connacht”. Recipients will again be selected based on a range of criteria, including their playing, coaching or administrative commitments to the GAA. A number of awards in each province will be reserved for those excelling in the areas of coaching and administration within the College GAA Club.
Each bursary granted will be for €750 and payment will be made annually in two instalments of €375. Further information and application forms for this year’s scheme are currently available to download here Connacht GAA Higher Education Bursary Application Form 2019-2020
